William Jenkins

William J. Jenkins, 70 of Walnutport formerly of Scranton passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital on April 1, 2016 after a courageous 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of M. Elaine Jenkins; they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last August. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert and Beulah (Roberts) Jenkins. William honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He attended Kings College in Wilkes-Barre. William worked in management information systems for NCR and for the formers Hess’s Department store. He then worked for Rosenberger Cold Storage of Quakertown, and for several International Cold Storage Firms, most recently Versacold of Canada.
Survivors: Wife, Daughters; Maura J. and husband Gilbert Borrego of Austin, TX, Kristin E. and husband Marcus Bentine of Miami, FL. Sister; Mary Gordon of Scranton. Nieces & Nephews.
Services: Memorial Service 11am Friday April 8, 2016 St Nicholas Catholic Church, 1152 Oak Rd, Walnutport. Calling hour 10-11 am the church.
Celebration of Life 10AM, Elm Park United Methodist Church 712 Linden St, Scranton PA 18503. Arrangements Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.
