William Stein

William A. "Bill"쳌 Stein, 65 of Slatington died unexpectedly Saturday March 22, 2014 while at a Masonic Event in Scranton, PA. He was the husband of Reta M. (Blose) Stein; married for 47 years this June. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Esther (Serfass) Stein. Bill was a US Army veteran, who served 1 tour in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member and past master of Slatington Masonic Lodge 440, and Slatington Lions Club. Bill was currently serving as Tax Collector of Slatington, and participated with the Slatington Borough Sewer Authority, and Parks & Recreation. He was a member of the American Legion Post 16, Rose Croix Chapter of the Eastern Star #235, Slatington Skeet Club as well as life member of the Vigilant Fire Co., and the Raccoon Club of Northampton. Bill was on the original committee of the restoration of the Slatington Fireman's Statue. He was a volunteer driver for NOVA Medical Van, and served as past president for the suburban youth football league and the NLAA.

Survivors: Wife, Daughter Stephanie (Stein) and husband Rev Chris Druckenmiller of Bath. Son; Stephen Stein and wife Sabrina of Germansville. Grandchildren; Jordan, Bethany, and Sydney. Sister; Dawn Seach of Lehighton. Aunts, Uncles, Nieces & Nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers Robert C. and Douglas E. Stein

Services: 11AM Saturday March 29, 2014 Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second St, Slatington., Calling hour to include Masonic Services 9-11AM.
