William “Bill” Stout, 92 of Palmerton, formerly of Walnutport, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Scenic View Personal Care, Palmerton. He was the beloved husband and best friend of the late Roberta ‘Bert” (Sickler) Stout, who passed away in 2009. Born in Gouldsboro, PA on February 10, 1934, he was one of five children born to the late Ernest Sr., and Margaret (Randall) Stout. Bill served his country proudly in the US Army as a SP4, in the heavy artillery unit from 1956 to 1958. He worked as a heavy equipment operator his entire life. Most recently for Clair Stahley, Inc. from 1978 until his retirement in 2013 at age 80. A member of the Slatington Skeet Club, Bill was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting & fishing. He also enjoyed country & blue grass music and was a diehard Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR fan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Wanda wife of Joseph Shimko, Jr., of Slatington, Jeffery Stout and wife Tina of FL, Donna wife of Allen McClure of TN, Sherri wife of Andrew Bear of Dillsburg, PA; grandchildren; Joseph III, Cortney, Zachary, Erica; great- grandchildren, Maddie, Mia, Reilly, Aurora; brother, Carles “Butch” Stout. He was predeceased by brothers, Phillip Stout, Harold “Pete” Stout, Ernest “Buck” Stout.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am. Interment with military honors to follow at Covenant United Methodist Cemetery, Point Phillip.
