Dyanne Van Horn, 50, of Slatington passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 in her home. She was the wife of Douglas S. Van Horn, whom she married on October 27, 2007. Born in Bethlehem, she is the daughter of John and Carol (Giardina) Podwika of Northampton. Dyanne received her BA in Psychology/ Cert. in Criminal Justice from DeSales University. She was employed by the County of Lehigh as the Assistant Director of Crisis Intervention. Dyanne enjoyed herb gardening, comedy shows, traveling, animals, cooking and event planning.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by Doug’s daughters: Kristina and husband Rob Savacool of Alpha, NJ, Alison and husband Errol Bott of Alpha, NJ, Diana and husband Steve Farley of Asbury Park, NJ; Brother-in-law: David Van Horn and wife Marlene of Marshall, MO; Aunt: Joanne Podwika of Wyoming, PA, Dorian Giardina of West Pittston, PA; Uncle Charles Giardina, both of Wyoming, PA; many cousins, beloved beagle: Benington James.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. Second Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dyanne’s name to Animals in Distress, PO Box 609, Coopersburg, PA 18036.
